Chilldisc Receives 2008 Merit Award in Kitchen Product Innovation
Kitchen and Bath Business Recognizes Chilldisc For Achievement
in Originality, Aesthetics, Functionality and Consumer Appeal
WESTMINSTER, MD, December 16, 2008 -- Chilldisc (www.chilldisc.com),
makers of an innovative surface cooling technology for restaurant
and residential bars, has been honored by Kitchen and Bath Business
magazine’s 2008 Product Innovator Awards. Chilldisc is featured
in the December issue of Kitchen and Bath Business, a publication
that reaches more than 50,000 kitchen designers, architects, custom
builders, and remodelers each month.
“This is an incredible achievement for Chilldisc, and we are
very proud to be honored by a top industry publication for excellence
in product innovation,” said Fred Kent, founder of Chilldisc.
In a video published on the magazine’s website, Christina
Trauthwein, Editor-In-Chief of Kitchen & Bath Business explained, “We’re
here today to honor outstanding achievements in product innovation
based on criteria ranging from originality and aesthetics, to functionality
and consumer appeal.” She went on to describe Chilldisc as “the
coolest” of this year’s award winners.
“Don’t you just hate it when your drink gets warm? This
product provides a solution to keep beverages cold after they have
been served,” Trauthwein explained.
“Chilldisc is a fun, fun product which has both commercial
and residential uses,” explains Miriam Lissak, President of
New York interior design firm Weinreb Schultz Design Associates.
Lissak went on to explain that Chilldisc can be personalized “with
the opportunity to etch your own personal logo in there, or that
of a restaurant or bar.”
Chilldisc introduced its residential product, Chillbaby, in 2008.
Chillbaby’s 3-inch stainless steel discs are chilled down to
26 degrees, allowing guests to enjoy fresh and cold drinks down to
the very last sip. The ice cold discs are also outlined with a fiber
optic ring of colors that makes a great visual statement in a residential
bar.
